Enjoy the Ride Productions Presents

"Thai Masters x Kiin Series"

Ben, David and the whole crew at Kiin are excited to announce the next chapter on our unique culinary journey.

We’ve always taken great pride in hosting memorable events for you, that push boundaries and are ‘far from the ordinary’.

This year is no different, as we invite you to the start of a new series of immersive dinners, hosting and celebrating some of our favourite chef’s, brought to you directly from Thailand.

These uniquely talented, award-winning chefs are true masters of their craft, and we’re honoured to invite them to cook in the kitchen alongside Kiin’s own Ben Bertei.

Creativity and innovation, paired with a deep respect for traditional Thai cookery is at the heart of what we do at Kiin.

Through these shared values and the good times spent with these chefs on our trips to Thailand, the idea for this unique series of dinners came about.

So, save the airfare and simply come join us at Kiin instead this Autumn, as we celebrate the artistry of Thai cooking at it’s very finest.

Bookings are available now via the links below; these dates will sell out, so be quick to avoid missing out. We look forward to hosting you!

We kick off our collection of ‘Thai Masters’ dinners with a bang this March, playing host to a true pioneer of modern Thai cookery, Andy Ricker.

Based in Chaing Mai, Thailand for the last 25 years, Andy is a legend amongst his peers, and over the past three decades has worked tirelessly to introduce and educate the world to the beautiful complexities and true nature of Northen Thai cooking.

In the words of his dear friend, the late, great Anthony Bourdain; “Andy Ricker, the white guy that cooks awesome Thai food”.

So, get ready for some fire, spice and a few good stories along the way this March as Andy and our own Ben Bertei bring the authentic flavours of Northern Thailand to Kiin for one night only.

About Andy Ricker

Andy worked in restaurants, fields, factories, shops and construction sites all over the world before opening his first restaurant, Pok Pok, in Portland, Oregon, USA in 2005.

He went on to operate many restaurants of a similar ilk in Portland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York City, and is the founder of the Som beverage company.

He is a two-time James Beard Award winner and a once upon a time holder of a prestigious Michelin star for Pok Pok, NY in Brooklyn.

Andy has featured on television programs such as ‘Farang, the story of chef Andy Ricker’ by VICE Films and ‘Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Thailand’ with his dear, late friend.

Andy is also the author of three cookbooks: Pok Pok: Food and Stories from the Streets, Homes and Roadside Restaurants of Thailand, Pok Pok: The Drinking Food of Thailand, and Pok Pok: Noodles.

He now lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand, with his wife Kung and their six cats; however, his passion for Northern Thai foodburns as brightly as ever as he continues to work and educate through his cooking, food tours and collaborative events.

Next up in our ‘Thai Masters Series’, we are honoured to welcome Chef Prin Polsuk and his wife Thanyaporn (Mint) to Kiin, they own and run the highly revered Samrub Samrub Thai in Bangkok.

Chef Prin approaches Thai cuisine like no other with innovative takes on ancient recipes, created through his encyclopaedic knowledge and tireless research of ancient cookbooks.

With Mint by his side, at Samrub Samrub, they offer a truly unique dining experience that feels both comforting and refined at the same time.

Prin re-shapes conceptions of what Thai food can be, whilst Mint controls service with a family-like warmth and generosity.

This will be the first time Chef Prin has cooked in Australia for many years, and in this time, Samrub Samrub has gained a cult-like status throughout Thailand and Asia.

We are so excited to be working alongside Prin and Mint this May as they bring a little bit of that Samrub Samrub magic to you at Kiin.
